And Then This Happened, Which Is Nice 10Sep17

I went to Dillon Ridge to replenish beer supplies from the damage Greg & I did to ours, and prep for Octoberfest - when low and behold, Pliny The Elder was offered me. A chance too for me to righteously use my retirement gift from BK - cool.
Of course it moved me to look for G3 Guide Vest solutions. My first attempt was online - still always ~$250. And Angler's Covey ~$250. And then Tenacious Tape came to mind - it's a super-sticky, clear, ultra-light, gear repair tape I use for pants, tents, packs, etc.. Here're are the B4 and After - we'll see. My sense though is that Simms needs to change the back material to be more UV resistant and robust... and that my tape job won't hold so I hope they've already made the upgrade because the vest features are the shizzle despite this fail and earlier multiple integrated zinger fails. I will write them but...
I called Anglers Covey and upon returning to COS I tried on new G3 Guide vests as I sensed my L was too big for me, even over coats. Low and behold it was true the M fit better. Further, while I hadn't seen any online pricing below ~$250, AC had a fall sale making it just $200 plus tax... and since I also bought $100 merchandise cards earlier in the year for $75 I got a further discount. Sweet. I now have a new, non-ghetto, non-rasty vest and a backup vest. Who knows if my ghetto fix will work - I had even enhanced it some from original fix - but I like the new fit much better.
I also learned that my Hardy Ultralite 4000 DD which was run over by a truck was "fixed" for just $60! Actually the fix is just a straight out replacement so also sweet. The Sage One is being "repaired" as well, for $70, so that'll get mated to the new Hardy when it's returned... right now I'm on my backup 5 weight - the venerable Z-Axis. All that's left really is to hear from Patagonia on the fate of my request for new Foot Tractor boots... the stitching and adhesive didn't hold through 1.5 seasons on the inside of the boots where last meets top material. Seems most of these companies are treating me decently as I've been buying the top of their lines mostly - except for reels, there I buy mid-quality and lighter typically.
Patagonia also did right by me and sent me an all new pair of Foot Tractors! Woohoo.
