Escaping Aspen & The Pan 01Oct17

I checked out early from the excellent Glenwood Springs Cedar Lodge (free breakfast, decent room, free 30Mbps WiFi and cheapest in the area) after checking the weather forecast. I hit the Frying Pan below Reudi Rez and fared similar to my last visit - nothing but smalls. I guess I don't get how to fish the Pan... I tried both an upper spot in sight of the dam and one lower one and - nothing but smalls. I chose to head over Indy Pass for the way back to Summit so I stopped again along the Roaring Fk and caught a goregeous 18" rainbow but dropped him before the shot - see the lame attempt to catch him swimming away; I lost another nice one that got away downstream. Once in the car it started to rain, which led to sleet and snow on my way up the pass on CO82. It didn't stop snowing most of the way to the Nest and got heavier as I topped Fremont into Summit Co. I awoke to newfallen over 1 foot just at the Nest.
