GR8 Recon On Blue @ Green Mtn 05Jun18
I was a bit dubious on the low flow of 75cfs coming out of Green Mtn Rez so I had to recon before Yoho arrives to fish. Flows surely were low but fishing was still pretty good - I caught a number of fish including a fat 20+" cutbow. I tried a green drake nymph as lead fly but caught fish only on the mercury head FBPT and Cheeseman Emerger. Kala and I hiked up Buffalo in the AM so I only fished 1:30-4:30 and while I didn't see much bug sign other than some midges, there still must be mayflies here. It was fun and now I know its fine to take Jim if conditions remain similar - and I think they will because Green Mtn Rez is far from full despite the releases from Dillon Dam topping 700cfs.
