Clearing Conditions For CutBows 04Dec19

Between the storms Kala & I returned to COS for errands and appointments. During such timing and sensing a ~60° day I headed to the PT for some "winter" cutbow fishing. I reached the water ~9:30am at the Nature Center with one car already fishing. AM midges and PM BWOs were apparent. Flows still ~80cfs consistently and viz has improved to ~30". While the AM was a bit chilly and overcast, it fished well, while the PM was gorgeous and fished a little thinner. I caught lots of 7" fry and several decent cutbows, including a 19.5"er, out of the NC in the AM, on the Awesome Midge and Mercury head RS2s. I caught a few more in the PM after lunch at Valco, including a small brown. Good day - especially considering its "winter." I christened the net and it was a sharp improvement as to reach and size - it worked great as did my guide belt, which actually is a lot more comfy and eases back fatigue. Ultimately it got crowded and I left a bit early.
