We came to Summit to raise the sails on Mon Ami and check on things and chill in the mountains. I took the chance and dropped into the Green Mtn Canyon section of the Blue River for some fishing today. The river is still very low flowing for this time of year - but the GM Rez is not filling much as the inbound Blue River is also low flowing. It's loading a little from smaller streams draining the Gore, but that's not much. The low flows means fishing is technical and one must concentrate on the sections near deep runs ~ the fish are not spread out around the river. There was a modest BWO hatch at 11 am during which I caught some nicer 18" & 19" cutbows on BHFBPT and Black Ice. Else I caught a bunch of browns with one a bit nicer 17". Unfortunately I lost the biggest 'bow in a freak thing - he was big and jumped high immediately on hookup; it was an errant leap though as he landed right on a slightly exposed rock and as he wriggled off, the upper flies caught on the rock and he broke off - sheesh.
