It was a great weekend with MLC on the golf courses, dining, and catching Formula 1. Saturday morning we did an "alpine start" to get to Kennedy Golf Course for a 6:10am tee time with Matt. The course is Matt's home course and only 5 min from his apartment. The course was in great shape and Kala played very well as we walked the West 9.
We moved back to Matt's place to catch F1 qualifying and enjoyed Lando Norris & McLaren delivering on their throw down upgrade tweets by actually capturing the P2 starting spot for the British Grand Prix @ Silverstone, the birthplace of F1. We like Lando. After, we headed to a nice Korean BBQ place and enjoyed a comprehensive feast on our personal table grill. We all grabbed a pickup item at the flagship REI (and rambled mostly aimlessly through there to get it) and then Kala & I headed back to COS.
Once in COS we noted the arrival of Matt's Schitt dac/amp box there, just a few hours late for us to have taken it up to Denver. NP, we invited Matt down to grab it and watch the British Gran Prix with us on Sunday. He accepted and again we were stoked to see Lando turn his outside front row starting position into a P2 podium spot for the race ~ he was F1 driver of the day of course. It's good news that McLaren has made mods making them much more competitive ~ except of course against Max's Red Bull. We hit Il Vicino before heading to Kansas (ok, almost, Falcon near Blue Sky) to play Antler Creek. The afternoon was pretty toasty but we had another fine outing on the links. The course was in poor shape and we forged streams on 8 crossings through deep water but yeah AC's signature 9th-13th holes were awesome ~ killer but awesome.
Matt headed home with the Schitt. Sunday night we were able to host the world traveling Brantleys on the Blodgett deck. What a blast of good nosh, plenty of SLO vino, solid solutions to world issues, and cool evening scenes over Blodgett Pk.
