Big day in the hood ~ dublD retired ~ hire 'em & retire 'em! Yeah, he beat me by ~3 yrs to the mark, the stud; he may fail retirement yet :). Yoho & Mary and Kala & I headed to the new dB haunt on the Palmer Divide for the celebration with his fam supporting the man. We had a blast in a tight crowd and saw a number of the CoWWs. Kala & I offered what we should among the best ambers, which was gold, a tough to acquire Eagle Rare; it was appreciated & understood as intended.
Beyond the obvious, DD's bmf and fellow CoWW, Cerevisiaevelo Piscator, and I collaborated on a retirement fly rod for the man: the ultralight was ordained and DD earned a cool af Rodfather Headwaters armed with the keen featherweight Redington Zero 2-3 (just 2.7 oz). One can barely feel the rod in hand and casting with the slick & matched SA WF3F line may be dreamy on ~16"ers from among the tight willows of any Rocky Mountain headwaters... of which we have many in CO. Consulting be dammed; let's hike, let's fish.Congratulations youngster, you earned it.
