Kala & I took a nice ride to Breck and back - it was Kala's first 30 miler of the year. Great job and a fine picnic I toted for a Blue-side lunch.
I stopped at Outer Ranger Brewing for my July cans from the Summit club and tasted on the new deck. They actually gave Summit members a stemmed glass and taste of the tasty Parties In The Future. Plus, soon they're dropping Way Down again - woohoo.
If you been missin' sports on TV there's a stellar upcoming chance for real action. The MLL (Major League Lacrosse) is going to run an 8 day playoff season and the Denver Outlaws are in, and are contenders. Looks like a brutal schedule but all games are being played @ Navy stadium. Kala made me an Outlaws mask (see above) and I'll catch some games on ESPN2 and ESPN+
I hauled out to Williams Fork early with flows (far) down to 100cfs, perhaps too low. I still was the 3rd car, but just the 3rd. I deeted liberally (yuck) as this spot is notorious for mosquitoes this time of year. It was pretty hot and fishing sucked despite the Cutthroat Angler's site saying WF was great. Should've hit the Colorado, Ark headwaters, Eagle or Gore. I managed just a number of 6"-8" browns like this. Fish were scarce - low flows might've chased them into the CO. But again, the CO river basin is fishing differently this year - many fewer 'bows.
