Broken Rod Brown But Else GR8 @ Jurassic 16May18

Here in Summit Co the tailwaters are flowing more conveniently and as I dropped into the canyon breach of the Green Mtn Rez yielding 150cfs flows on the Blue River bound for the Colorado, I was excited to be able to wade the whole thing in spring. I arrived late at 10:45am and bug sign with midges and BWOs was full on. I hiked in 30min, as far as I typically do, and started fishing at the awesome tongue run. After 3 nice fish and about an hour, an 18" brown from above the run in the riffle broke my rod and required a long landing process. There's a movie of the whole thing below. It was just noon but I hiked out with my busted stuff for lunch and a new rig. I dove back in about 1:45pm and while I didn't continue down to the bigger fish I did catch many more cutbows, including a 20'er. GR8 day @ Jurassic Pk - plus a good day for the cooler straw hat (which still got pretty sweaty).
