Once Again Into The Breach... 18May18

I was fortunate to fish the Blue in Jurrasic Pk again today. I left with breakfast in hand in order to last the day on the river. Just sayin' - this section of the Blue is one of the finest tailwaters in CO, at least in May at 150cfs. I saw BWO and midge in the AM but all the damage was from the mayfly imitations, mostly the merc head PT and even more so, Destiny's Child. In the PM I saw caddis and tied a larvae on but did jackamo with it - working instead were the black & olive midges. Most fish were caught at the head or above deep runs/pools as I believe they swam up to grab the BWO emergers. At 4pm it got cold and windy and started to rain so I headed out for happy hour. Another GR8 day in Jurrasic Pk but different than most as I didn't land the big ones (two ripped rigs - grrr) but scored oodles of 16-19" cutbows and browns. Plus, while I biffed into cold water, I didn't break my Sage Z-Axis 5wt rig!
