Tomahawk Section Of Middle Fk Of So Platte 15May18

I headed to Summit the back way and stopped along the Middle Fk of the So Platte north of Hartsel 9 miles, on the Tomahawk section. Despite flows recently being cranked up and the stream very turbid and off color, I did manage to catch a half doz fish over the couple hours I'd stopped there. I just had to use flashy flies - rainbow warrior, pink & red ObiJuan squirmy, red foil midge, etc. - all these worked "ok" - it was not an epic event and the fish (browns and cutbows) were just 11"-13" but the view up valley at the Mosquito Range is awesome.
