New Pornographers Album & JRiver Update 10Oct10

Back at the ranch I picked up the latest New Pornographers album "In The Morse Code Of Brake Lights," their 8th studio release. Hmmm... Neko sings on half, Bejar is not present, and AC wrote all the songs. Everything here seems to be tumbling down... Neko's voice isn't (unfortunately) as prominent a tool and the heavier strings in many places mellow out everything and reduce punch. It's "ok" I'd say, but far from great. Perhaps it'll take some more listening. I still bought the tix for the Gothic show in February... it is New Pornographers after all - I hope Neko comes out.

While monitoring the new album I also began to look at some new 2019 features in JRiver MC. The "Lookup Lyrics" is really handy. I can get a whole album worth and have MC display each one as the track changes, right alongside the album cover. And it's all very fast and works on clients just as handily as the server.
