Happy Spring ~ 11 Mile Recon 04Apr19

Snow slowed in the mountains so I headed to the Front Range for errands and a concert on Friday. I went the "back way" and did some recon for the upcoming CoWW outings in 11 Mile Canyon. I only stayed briefly and it was pretty crowded all the way at the top; it was 51° when I jumped out of the car at noon. I saw very sparse BWO sign and tied on an RS2 along with a Miracle Midge. I caught a couple fish on the #22 RS2 in ~2 hours with the water still pretty cold and flows very low @ ~70cfs; one was a nice 18" cutbow. I would've done the 2-hand presentation on the GoPro cam but when I clicked it "on" I knocked it off into the water; I recovered the GoPro but had to do the one hand camera shot instead. I also lost another decent fish with weak strike detection on my part. My sense is still that we are 10-14 day behind "normal" spring fishing on the Ark and the So Platte but it is seemingly getting better. In 11 Mile the spawn appears about over and soon the 'bows will be ravenous... I imagine it is similar if not even further along @ the PT.
