Final Spring Skiing In The Tail ~ And More In Town Fun With Bro Brown 14May22

Breck just announced they are moving up closing day to tomorrow! We went out today to catch some "final" runs on the spring corn. We were fortunate today that the wind subsided and lifts to the very top were open. We took T-Bar & Imperial on a number of loops hitting Whale's Tail and even got to hit Wonderland off Pk 6 for a trip few had taken. One problem was though that the Wunderlust cutoff to Pk 6 was open at the top but yielded a hike near the 2nd ridgeline over to Pk 6 - oh well, a little of everything this day.

Beautiful bluebird day ~ we saw most of Summit Co and the Gore Range atop Breck and I was able to just wear shorts and a flannel shirt.
There were even moose on the loose in the hood. Our nice ski day was capped by some brews and chicken at ORB/Bird Cafe. And, we hatched a plan to catch The Infamous Stringdusters play stuff from there latest album, Toward The Fray, at Highside Brewing that night for Highside's 4th year anniversary party. Free in a small venue is fun ~ especially for these keen bluegrass headliners.

Which we did; the show, party, company and brews were good. Ok, it was actually just 3 of the 5 Stringdusters but they were awesome and joined by a keen bassist, Bennett Galloway. I was a bit worried about the entry level sound but it was fine. Great cap to the day and the vibe at Highside was local fun.
