PT In Rising Flows 06May22

I stopped out to visit the Crusher Too, which has been in the shop for 5 days with little progress on the rear sensor array and safety systems, to pick up fishing gear. I had permission to take Kala's Lexus fishing, given my circumstances. I hit the PT since my access pass for 11 Mile was in the Crusher. It was a warm day with flows rising from a greatly seasonally reduced 110cfs to 160cfs while I was there - the rising flows put the fishing off a bit but I still managed some 16" fish like these. Fish were sipping spinners early, of what I don't know and the mayfly hatch was sporadic all morning. I caught fish on black ice #18, #18 MHFBPT, grey #18 & purple #20 RS2s, and #20 Destiny's Child. Small fish today but nice to get out again. I was toting the RF Lighting 3 weight Rod; I wanted to get it experience but it was not enough club for the PT really. It fought the 16"ers fine but had I gotten a 22"er I might've been out of luck - plus, it's shorter so doesn't cast as far effectively, say 60 ft and then little is left. I alerted a new goose family and caught another as I was leaving and left an impression on 4 guided lady fly fishermen. I left early to join Kala at a theater event.
