Runs & Rods In Summit County 12May22-13May22

Bro Brown rolled in from Omaha and Jim arrived after golf on Wed night. I had a nice chili meal with Steve and then welcomed Jim to the Nest. We headed to Breck for spring corn, and we got it but the wind closed T-Bar & Imperial and unfortunately thwarted our expected laps on Whale's Tail for runs down Pk 6 & Pk 7. Nice day nonetheless. We at lunch at Sevens and then stopped at Broken Compass for tasty ColoRADBro. We hit the hot tub and heard the new Nest Theater vinyl section and I captured listening impressions. We again dined as kings on BBQ chix & spaghetti at Steve's.

With the wind still howling we chose to cast fly rods instead and headed out to Jurassic Park. It was windy and we only saw sporadic hatches and did not do much till heading back upstream and stopping at the deepest run. There we all caught fish: Jim & Steve caught 'bows and Jim & I caught browns - on midges after we finally gave up on the mayflies. Nothing too big on the day fro us. There were several other groups in the canyon when we arrived and more when we left. Another good day in Summit.
