Dog Days On The PT 02Aug22

It was very hot down in Pueblo. The ~300cfs flows too were milky. Fishing was meh. I caught several 16"er rainbows like that shown and one brown. Drowned trico, rainbow warrior and small purple midge fooled the fish but I think it was just whatever they could see. I headed back after just a couple hours - I didn't even try the St Pk section. Too, the Nature Center road was closed due to prior flooding. I had to park off W 8th St and get in below the NC and walk up the path ~1/2 mile. It was OK and something to consider if you don't want to pay NC parking. I employed the Rodfather Colorado to cut through high winds today and landing this one at least put a bend on her despite the size (just the current I guess).

In other news around the CoWWBoyz, the float trip was good for Andy but not so good for Rick. Andy scored a nice 19" yellow-finned German brown; Rick broke his rod, lost his BT speaker and drenched DD's bag with sunscreen.
