In The Wild Album Drop From The Interrupters 13Aug22

The August music appreciation headline has to be the drop of The Interrupters latest album, In The Wild. It broke almost all at once - I think there were just a couple of official vids prior to release… those were pretty good but I’ve been waiting patiently for the whole deal. I am actually an album guy. I have the vinyl & the digital now - so good from one of the best show bands that play for us. So, 1st some of the first songs dropped… then on with the show.

  • Jul22 - Kimmel - In The Mirror
  • Aug22 - Official - Raised By Wolves (BTW - great vocals on this recording which includes some live studio stuff among the artsy stuff) ~ obviously they’re going for rock stardom here not SKA or punk, OK, understood
My friend Chris Wilke will likely top his 58th 14er today on Mt Elbert. Yeah; stud. This bassist and I share some SKA appreciation and he rightly points to 3 specific songs on the disc which get to SKA roots.
  • Lay Your Burdens Down
  • Alien - reflecting a type (in the Valley) - is this a SKA punk anthem?
  • Kiss The Ground - I am really glad they added these classic Jamaican sounds; no one else really carries this vibe righteously ~ who’s got a spleef?
Then...As We Live - Tim Armstrong is their supporter and often producer. There’s plenty more to love on this album from “….I Was From” to the close. The band did some cool stuff in the DTS Sound Space (good sound - well recorded - recently) but you have to move to 40 min in to get the new stuff.

We have several chances to catch the Interupters this fall: Mission Ballroom (I was burned once), Fiddler’s Green and the spectacular local bowl - Dillon Amphitheater, with Flogging Molly; Yoho can we get back in time from the Gunny salmon run exit?
